wonder bread

Today, we went to Arnold’s Country Kitchen for lunch, and it was delicious as usual.

It is one of my favorite places to eat in Nashville, especially on Thursdays and Fridays when they have fried green tomatoes.

I also obtained an orchid plant today. It is purple and yellow, and I am already certain of its demise in my care.

Babysitting tonight until late. Children have a way of really making me nervous—they can tell I am uncomfortable, too. These children have very wealthy parents, and iPods, and one of them is memorizing Bible facts for something at school called the Bible Bowl where he will have to answer trivia questions.

For instance: How old was Methusela?  What was Noah’s Ark made of?

This family makes a point of pointing out my “quirks” which is very amusing. Even the children are very aware of their material superiority, and make a point of pointing out my shitty car, low-capacity i-Pod, old cell phone, and preference for sneakers.

I drove home another child. He said my music sounds old. This particular song was not old. He does not seem to like Why? Joni OR Leonard. They played outside for hours in the cold, and tracked mud onto the carpet when they came in. There are sugar cookies with frosting and sprinkles for the children.
